My Travel Plans for the New Year!

This year 2011 starting out with a bang! Not from fireworks or the ball dropping but with the clicks of my finger. In less than 1 hour I booked my big vacations of 2011. Here's my destination:

February: Hawaii - 4 nights
March: San Antonio and Houston - 4 nights
April: Cruise - Miami and Bahamas - 4 nights
Los Angles and Santa Barbara - 3 nights
September: Cruise - Alaska - 7 nights
Why these places:

Hawaii: I pick this place because I have never been and it's my birthday gift to myself. I wanted to go last year with my friend but she was scared to be on an island surrounded by water. Well that is what an island is so me being selfish I decided with my sister the lawyer that is not afraid of anything to book a trip - well she is afraid of not being able to buy her $200 shoes, $15 toothpaste and $10 coffee. I love her and it will be fun. I have booked a few tours that include Pearl Harbor and a Luau. We plan to attend the Chinese Dragon Dance, Diamond Head, North Shore etc. My carry on bag is packed and really to go. I refuse to pay $25 to check my luggage so I have learn to pack very light and responsible. I will have more packing tips later.

San Antonio and Houston: This trip will take me to my grandmothers 90th birthday. My family is going to do it up for her and I would not miss it for the world. There will be tons of people and good southern food. My grandmother is an amazing woman and I love her very much.

Miami Cruise: Every year I take a cruise with friends so this year we will do a short 3 day cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. This will be my friend very first cruise so I decided to make it short for her. Not so selfish of me. A normal cruise for me is between 5 and 8 days. I love cruising because almost every this is included. Cruise is a forced way to just relax and do nothing. I love inside cabins because there is no window to wake me up and they are cheaper. I have been in a cabin with a balcony and to my surprise I did not care for it. There will be more to come.

Alaska Cruise: This was a selfish move. I have never been to Alaska so my plan is to go alone and take in all that nature has to offer. There will be more.

So these are my plans for now and looking forward to add more trips during the year.

Signing off-The Selfish Traveler!
